Mirai's Traffic Engineering Design Team

Meet the rest of our team....

We have designed traffic signals, signing, channelization and illumination systems in more than 30 state, county and local jurisdictions throughout Washington and Alaska over the past 35 years. Mirai staff have completed projects for major developments in the region including, the SuperMall, Talus, and a number of smaller developments for many developers throughout the Northwest. Mirai provides traffic design services in the following areas:

  • Traffic Signal Design
  • Roundabout Design
  • Signal system interconnect
  • Illumination
  • Traffic signing
  • Traffic channelization
  • Operational analysis for individual intersections and for coordinated signal systems
  • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
  • Traffic signal timing
  • Transit Signal Priority

We have developed a good working familiarity with various design standards and have the experience and flexibility to adapt to the local agency's desires. Investments in traffic signal operations are among the most cost effective means to improve transportation system operation.

We have prepared partial or complete PS&E for traffic signals, signal system interconnect, illumination, traffic signing, traffic channelization, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). We have prepared plans, specifications and estimates for transit signal priority systems at numerous intersections in south Snohomish County, as prioritized by Community Transit. Currently, our staff are assisting Snohomish County to develop an ITS Systems Plan.

Mirai has used aaSIDRA for roundabout analyses for recent projects including SR 516 (Kent-Kangley Road) for the City of Maple Valley, the WSDOT Triangle Project in Federal Way, and SeaTac Center Access Project. We have completed safety studies for traffic control devices for Issaquah, Bellingham, Lynnwood, Walla Walla, and Benton County.
