Pierce County Impact Fee Program

Mirai led a team that helped Pierce County implement its first traffic impact fee
program. One of the fastest growing areas in the state, Pierce County will use
the impact fees to fund improvements needed to accommodate the travel
demand added by the new development. Our project team provided technical,
policy, and administrative guidance during development of the impact fee
program. In the process, we updated the County's travel forecasting model.
Mirai developed a cost allocation method that fully accounts for the traffic
impacts created by new growth trips upon road and intersections throughout the
County.
