Kent-Kangley Road and 216th Avenue SE Intersection Study

Project Description
The City of Maple Valley selected Mirai to evaluate a capital project to rebuild the Kent Kangley road from 213th Place Southeast to 218th Avenue Southeast. The project initially included intersection channelization and signal upgrades on Kent-Kangley Road. Mirai reexamined the need for the improvement and examined alternate design concepts that could reduce the project cost. The neighborhood was engaged during the study to examine issues related to opening a closed leg of the intersection onto local streets.

Mirai examined various alternatives including a roundabout option. The preferred design concept was developed along with a preliminary traffic channelization plan to update the project description. This project will soon move into the design and construction phase.
